How do I obtain an absentee ballot for an upcoming election?
Answer
Voters wishing to receive an absentee ballot by mail must submit a request in writing to the Auditor's Office. Requests must be received in the Auditor's Office 15 days prior to the election. The request must include:
- Name
- Date of birth
- ID number
- Iowa residential address
- Address where the ballot is to be mailed if it is to be mailed to an address other than where the voter is registered
- Name or date of the election
- Party affiliation ( Primary Elections only )
- Signature and date the form was completed
