Veterans Affairs Medical Van Available
If a veteran needs a ride to a medical appointment, they may contact the Veterans Affairs Director at 641-939-8240 to arrange transportation with the VA Medical Van.

The VA Medical Van was donated to Hardin County Veterans Affairs through the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation’s Project: Food and Fellowship. The Program provides resources to help bring together military families and show gratitude to those who served.
Comprehensive Programs
Two comprehensive programs for military veterans are currently offered:

Community Affairs Presentations

How do I get a copy of my DD214?
If you were a resident of Iowa at the time of your discharge, you may contact the Iowa Department of Veteran Affairs at 800-838-4692 to find out if it’s on file and request a copy. If you were a resident of another state you will have to contact that state’s Department of Veterans Affairs.
If you have ever filed a copy of your DD214 at the Hardin County Offices, you can request a copy of your DD214 from the County Veteran Affairs or Recorder Offices:
