2022 Primary Election Information
The 2022 Primary Elections are on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Primary Election Calendar
Tuesday, March 29 - First day to request an absentee ballot by mail.
Thursday, April 21 - Deadline to petition for satellite voting locations.
Thursday, April 21 - Auditor's Office open until 5 pm.
Wednesday, May 18 - Absentee ballots available.
Monday, May 23 - Pre-registration deadline.
Monday, May 23 - Deadline to request absentee ballot by mail.
Monday, May 23 - Auditor's Office open until 5 pm.
Saturday, June 4 - Auditor's Office open 7:00- 3:00pm.
Monday, June 6 - Last day to vote absentee at Auditor's Office.
Tuesday, June 7 - Election Day
Tuesday, June 7 - Absentee ballots must be received by 8 pm to be eligible for counting
Registered to Vote?
To vote in Iowa, you must be registered to vote. To qualify to register to vote, you must be:
- A U.S. citizen
- An Iowa resident, AND
- At least 17 1/2 years old (must be 18 years old by election day to vote)

Voter ID
Beginning January 1, 2019, Iowa voters will be required to show a driver’s license, non-driver’s ID, passport, military ID, veterans ID, or Voter ID Card at the polls before they vote. Voters without the necessary ID will be offered a provisional ballot and can provide ID up until the time of the county canvass of votes (Monday after election day for Primary and General Elections).
