The Hardin County Attorney’s Office wishes to announce the new hire of Christopher I. Klein as Assistant County Attorney.
Christopher is an Iowa native; born in Davenport and raised in West Des Moines. He received an acting scholarship that encouraged him to attended college at the University of Northern Iowa. He graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in Religious Studies and returned to West Des Moines. He began law school in 2011 at Omaha’s Creighton University School of Law. Christopher studied Criminal Law, Animal Law, and Litigation while staying active in extra-curricular activities and was elected President of the Creighton Chapter of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Christopher earned his J.D. with a special certificate in Litigation in May 2014.
During law school, he worked in the Douglas County Corrections Pretrial Release program and worked with prisoners, attorneys, and judges on various matters. Christopher accepted a job as Pocahontas County Assistant Attorney in 2016 and focused on Juvenile Law, Mental Health, and Magistrate Court. In the summer of 2017, he joined a private firm in Des Moines that acted as an “all service law firm” specializing in the Chinese Community of Iowa. He is thrilled to return to prosecution work and is excited to work hard for his community.
Christopher is passionate about justice, prosecution, and Community Service. He can often be found watching movies, playing video games, or traveling throughout Iowa to see friends and family.
