Your child will be immersed in Iowa’s native prairie, forest, and wetland environments and we will spend as much time in the great outdoors as possible. There will be many hikes, crafts, nature-themed games and we may even be in the water one day. Your child will probably get dirty, wet and possibly muddy, which are all things that cannot be experienced staring at a screen. This is the way we like it and research has shown these types of activities are great for your child’s psyche and development. We are excited for this year’s camp and here is a small checklist of things to ensure your child is prepared for each day of camp.
What to bring:
Closed toe shoes
Old cloths that can get dirty
Dress for the weather
Long pants are preferred
Sunscreen and insect repellent (We have both but if you would like to apply them in the morning just before camp that is up to you.)
Medications (i.e. Epipen, inhaler, etc)
A GOOD ATTITUDE AND WILLINGNESS TO HAVE FUN
Kids will get muddy and their clothing might get wet and dirty. Dress your child appropriately for such conditions. You may want to bring them a spare set of clothes.
Snacks will be provided but campers need to bring a sack lunch each day.
